First cable tension wall in Western Canada
Centrium Place
With an overall design inspired by Dutch artist Piet Mondrian, this office tower is located in the heart of Calgary’s downtown business core and strategically connected to one of the city’s busiest +15 walkway.
With this highly visible location (and distinct overall design), there was an investment in the architectural design at the pedestrian level of this building. Centrium Place has become a significant corner building in Calgary with its integration of a large plaza with a corner entrance to the main building.
The cable-tensioned truss system (lauded to be the first in Western Canada at the time) offers a high-tech feel to emphasize the entrance.
In collaboration with the cable expert engineers we partner with, Stella designed the overall system and supplied the custom hardware.
