Located in Chicago’s western suburbs, the Rush Oak Brook Outpatient Center is home to a state-of-the-art outpatient surgery center as well as primary care and 20 different sub-specialties. This joint-venture between Rush University Medical Center, a leading academic medical center in the Chicago metropolitan market, and Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush, a private academic physician group, offers world-class care within its 100,000 sq. ft, 3-storey high facility.

Our point-supported glass hardware was used on the large glass canopy (9.6m [31’6”] by 5.6m [18’6”]) to create a distinct entrance into the building. With large glass panels to support, our heavy-duty articulating glass bolt was suggested and used. The 7.5 degrees of rotation within the bolt was useful in creating the canopy’s needed slope.

Unique to this project, we modified the support stud within the bolt to be longer to accommodate the mounting condition.
